Lego Indiana Jones (stylized as LEGO Indiana Jones) is a Lego theme based on the Indiana Jones film franchise, licensed from Lucasfilm. The exclusive franchise (for the 'Construction Category Rights') was first announced in June 2007,[1] and followed the successful Lego Star Wars franchise, also with Lucasfilm. The first set of products were launched in 2008, based upon two of the three earlier films (Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade). Sets featuring scenes from the fourth film, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, were released alongside the film, later in 2008. The Temple of Doom film was not featured until 2009, in a large set which re-created the mine-cart chase using new narrow-gauge Lego train track. https://renewchecks359.weebly.com/how-to-burn-mac-os-x-install-dvddmg.html.
The theme also features in a video game series. Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures was released on June 3, 2008, based on the original trilogy. A sequel, called Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues, was released in November 2009, including scenes from the new Kingdom of the Crystal Skull film, along with a level editor feature.
A computer-animated short film, Lego Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Brick, directed by Peder Pedersen, was also released on the official Lego site. It combines details from all four Indiana Jones films in one adventure.
Development[edit]
The development of the Indiana Jones Lego theme followed a similar process to other Lego themes, with sets being designed by Lego's team of designers in Billund, in consultation with franchise owner Lucasfilm. The inclusion of guns within the sets (including machine guns) was a cause of some internal controversy.[2]
Sets[edit]
Of the initial wave of sets released in 2008, Temple Escape (7623) was one of the biggest, and features the famous boulder chase scene from the opening sequence of Raiders of the Lost Ark. Measuring 53 cm long, the set included numerous 'booby traps' from the film, including shooting spears and tumbling rocks. As well as Indiana Jones himself, the set included minifigs of René Belloq and Satipo. Pilot Jock and his seaplane were also included as a late addition, with the Lego designer and Lucasfilm agreeing that they were an important addition to complete the scene (allowing Indy to escape).[3]
Two other medium-size sets released at the same time also featured scenes from the Lost Ark film. The Lost Tomb (7621) depicted a snake-filled tomb, which Indy must escape from, and Race for the Stolen Treasure (7622) depicted the chase scene from the film, with Indy riding a horse in pursuit of a truck.

Later in 2008, four sets were released featuring scenes from the new film. The biggest of these was Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (7627), which focused on the final scene of the movie, and included a rotating circle of 'crystal skeletons', as well as the falling obelisk tower. The characters Mutt Williams, Irina Spalko and two Ugha Warriors were all included in minifig form, as well as Indy and an unnamed Russian soldier.
In 2009, the 'gap' of having no sets from The Temple of Doom was filled with two new sets featuring scenes from the film. The biggest of the two, The Temple of Doom (7199), included new narrower gauge (4-studs wide rather than the usual 6 studs) Lego train tracks in order to re-create the mine cart chase scene from the second half of the film. Six track piece were included in two shapes, four as curves and two as slopes. Straight track pieces for this new type of train track have not yet been released in any set.
The second-biggest set released in 2009 was Venice Canal Chase (7197), which depicts the boat chase scene from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. The set includes two boats, one driven by Indy and Elsa Schneider, and the other driven by two Grail Guardians. The boats appear largely identical bar a few colour differences, but contain different button-activated actions - one boats splits in two when a button is pressed, the other one features an 'exploding' motor. The two Grail Guardian minifigs are notable for their dark red Fez hats, which is a new Lego element. The set also features a Venetian style bridge and an exploding pier.[4]

Future[edit]
The line was discontinued in 2010, but since Lucas plans to make a fifth installment to the franchise, the sets may be re-released along with new sets of the possible fifth Indiana Jones film. Due to the fact Disney bought Lucasfilm and will be making a new Indiana Jones movie, chances of new sets are high.
Reception[edit]
The Indiana Jones sets proved to be one of the most popular Lego themes, and by the end of 2008 were credited, along with Lego Star Wars, of boosting the Lego Group's profits within a stagnant toy market. The product line was said to have 'sold extremely well - especially on the North American market.' [5] The sets were occasionally compared to those of the discontinued Lego Adventurers label (which was strongly influenced in its own right by the Indiana Jones franchise), which ran from 1998 to 2003.
Video games[edit]
In common with some of the other movie franchise Lego themes, Lego Indiana Jones also features spin-off video games. These combine scenes from the films with the graphic style of the Lego pieces and minifigures.
Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures (2008)[edit]
This was the first videogame released in the series, produced by Traveller's Tales and published by LucasArts in 2008. It features scenes from the first three of the original Indiana Jones films, which can be played in any order.
Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues (2009)[edit]
This game was produced as a sequel to The Original Adventures, and includes scenes from the fourth film in the franchise (Kingdom of the Crystal Skull), as well as all-new scenes from the three original films. The game also added a new level editor.

Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues is a Lego-themed action-adventurevideo game developed by Traveller's Tales and published by LucasArts. It is the sequel to the 2008 game, Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures. The game allows players to play all four cinematic adventures,[1] including the latest film in the franchise, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which was not included in the previous game. Despite being tagged as a sequel, the game contains newly designed levels for all four movies. The game is available on the Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo DS, PlayStation Portable, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows.[2][3] The Mac OS X version of the game was released on 2 April 2011 by Feral Interactive.[4]
Gameplay[edit]
Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues lets the player control a Lego figure in areas related to movie scenes and situations. Each movie is broken down into five levels, with the exception of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which was divided into three five level parts. The movies would also include a level that would have the player defeat a certain number of various enemies to complete the level. The vehicle levels involved the player using their vehicle to destroy enemy vehicles. The last level of each movie would consist of a major boss battle, where the player would need to defeat the movies' main antagonist. All versions of Lego Indiana Jones 2 include a level creator where players can create their own levels and objects. Two-player co-op mode has been enhanced with split-screen; rather than forcing both characters to always be close enough to fit on the same screen, the game will seamlessly split when characters wander apart and merge into one screen when both players are near each other. The hub has also been redesigned; where before each hub was a small area with easy access to levels which had been unlocked, now each hub is a large area in which entrances to levels must be discovered.
This game has Trophy support on the PlayStation 3 version and on 23 November 2009, LucasArts revealed on Twitter that it was working on a patch for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game which has enabled online co-op gameplay, but was never finished.[5]
Plot[edit]
The game closely follows the plot of the four Indiana Jones films, namely Raiders of the Lost Ark, Temple of Doom, The Last Crusade, and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, with some modifications, to fit the Lego style humor and 2 player co-op gameplay. Each of the four film has a hub world, with 5 story mode levels each (that follow the plot of the movie itself), 5 treasure mode levels (that take place in the same area as each of the story levels, but in the aftermath of the story's events; the goal here is to find a way to collect a treasure hidden somewhere in the level), 5 bonus levels (where the players take control of Indiana and another random character in a level similar to those that can be created in the level creator; the goal is once again to make it to the end of the levek and collect a treasure), and 1 super bonus level (which is unlocked by completing all treasure mode and bonus levels in a hub). Each hub acts as a mini-open world, where the player can unlock new characters, vehicles or complete short races and other challenges.
The plot of the first three films has been significantly shortened compared to Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures, as the focus is mostly on Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (because it was absent from the previous game). Thus, wheras the first three films have only one hub with 5 story levels each, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull has three separate hubs, totalling 15 story levels.
Lego Indiana Jones 2 Ds Rom
The game begins with Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Part 1, which follows the first act of the movie, until Indiana and Mutt depart to Peru to find the titular Crystal Skull; the hub of this portion of the film consists of a small city area, with Area 51 and a small abandoned town that is used as a test area for a nuke nearby. Afterwards, the player can choose to play any of the other five hubs: Raiders of the Lost Ark, Temple of Doom, The Last Crusade, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Part 2 or Part 3. The Raiders of the Lost Ark hub consists of the snowy mountains where Indiana first finds Marion, a desert area (including a landing strip occupied by the Nazis, where Indiana has his iconic fight with a boxer, and a small town town where Indiana meets Sallah and Marion is captured by the Nazis), the temple at the beginning of the film, and a docks area. The Temple of Doom hub consists of a small jungle area in the Himalayas, the small village of Mayapore, the Pankot Palace, and a canyon (with a destroyed bridge over it, where the final battle of the film takes place). The Last Crusade hub consists of a small tropical island (where Indiana is left stranded following his fight with the Panama Hat man), Venice, the Nazi-controlled castle in Austria where Indiana finds his father Henry, a Nazi-controlled building in Berlin (where Indiana recovers the diary from Elsa during a book burning), with a small landing strip right next to it (where Indiana and Henry board a Zeppellin in an attempt to flee Germany, but are discovered - which is omitted from the game), and a desert area (including the Holy Grail temple), where the entire third act of the film takes place. The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Part 2 hub consists of a small town in Peru area, including a landing strip and a psychiatric hospital (where Indiana and Mutt search for clues that lead them to the Crystal Skull), a small graveyard area (where the Crystal Skull is located), and a large Amazonian jungle area (including the camp where Indiana and Mutt find Marion and Oxley), where the rest of the second act of the film takes place. The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Part 3 hub consists of another large jungle area, that is crossed by a river, and several small temples, where Indiana's team find many ancient civilizations at the end of the film.
Reception[edit]
The game generally received mixed reviews.GameTrailers gave the game a score of 7.0, citing it as more repetitive than previous titles and criticizing a lack of online features to complement the co-op and level editor modes. They also criticized the fact that half the game was based on 'the worst movie in the series.'[6] However, GameSpot suggests that the 'roll-your-eyes nature of the film' finds a much better fit in the Lego game adaptation, giving the game an 8.0 overall.[7]IGN gave the game 6.0, citing the lack of secrets in the main levels as well as the new hub worlds being a mess, but praised the soundtrack and lasting appeal.[8]Kotaku, however, says the game delivers on many levels and recommends it over the first game. It is also criticized for not staying onto the details of the movies, a feature that was present in its predecessor.[9] As of May 2012, the game has sold over 4 million copies worldwide.[citation needed]
